Terms of Service

Last updated: 2026.09.09 · Effective: 2026.09.30

Article 1 (Purpose)

These Terms set out the rights, obligations, and responsibilities of the service provider and of users in connection with the use of efilog (the "Service").

Article 2 (Definitions)

  • "Record": any content — text, images, video, audio, and the like — that a user creates and stores in the Service
  • "Scheduling": the state in which a record that has been created is kept private until a designated moment
  • "D-day": the moment at which a scheduled record becomes visible
  • "TimeLetter": a record sent so that it arrives for a designated person at a designated moment
  • "Inspiration": a mark of empathy left on another user's record
  • "efilog premium": the paid subscription service provided through in-app purchase

Article 3 (Eligibility)

The Service is available to users aged 14 or older. If the laws of your country of residence set a higher minimum age, you must meet that higher age. The date of birth entered at sign-up is used to automatically block sign-ups by anyone under 14. Where the law requires the consent of a legal representative for a minor aged 14 or older, we will provide separate guidance.

Article 4 (Rights in Content)

Copyright in every record a user creates belongs to that user. However, in order to operate the Service, the service provider holds the non-exclusive rights necessary to store, display, and transmit that content.

Article 5 (Prohibited Conduct)

The following conduct is prohibited:

  • Infringing another person's rights (copyright, likeness, reputation, personal information, and the like)
  • Posting obscene material, violent content, or content that encourages self-harm or suicide
  • Posting media harmful to youth, or making such media accessible to youth
  • Hate speech, discrimination, harassment, or threats
  • Use for improper purposes such as spam, fraud, or phishing
  • Technical conduct that interferes with the operation of the Service (exploiting vulnerabilities, attempting unauthorized access, and the like)
  • Using automated tools to create, retrieve, or register accounts in bulk
  • Misappropriating another person's account, or signing up with false information

Article 6 (Reporting Content and Resulting Measures)

Users may report inappropriate content or users. Once a report is received, we review it and may take the following measures:

  • Making the content private, or deleting it
  • Temporarily suspending the account
  • Permanent ban

Article 7 (Changes to and Termination of the Service)

Where there is a reasonable ground to do so, the service provider may change or discontinue part or all of the Service after giving prior notice.

Article 8 (Paid Services and Payment)

efilog premium is a paid subscription service provided through in-app purchase on the App Store and Google Play.

  • Payment, subscription renewal, and cancellation take place through the App Store or Google Play account that the user uses.
  • Unless cancelled, a subscription renews automatically in accordance with each store's policy. Renewal can be stopped at any time from the subscription management screen of the store on your device.
  • Refunds follow the refund policy and procedures of the App Store or Google Play where the payment was made. efilog does not process payments or issue refunds directly, outside of the stores.
  • When a subscription ends, access to premium-only features stops. Records and attachments created during the subscription period are not deleted and remain stored as they are.

What is included for free users

  • Free users may send one TimeLetter (a record sent to a specific person) each month. The allowance resets on the first day of each calendar month, and an unused allowance does not carry over to the following month.
  • To send more after using that month's one letter, an efilog premium subscription is required. TimeLetters already sent are delivered as scheduled, regardless of subscription status.
  • What is provided free of charge may change as the operation of the Service requires. If it is reduced or discontinued, we will give prior notice in accordance with Article 7 (Changes to and Termination of the Service).

Individual items

In addition to subscriptions, we offer individual items through in-app purchase that are used once in specific situations.

  • Second Thoughts: Used to edit a record that has been sealed because more than 24 hours have passed since it was created. It is not required in order to delete a record; deleting a record is always free.
  • Time Jump: Used to schedule a record, once, further ahead than the maximum scheduling period otherwise allowed to the user.
  • Individual items are not purchased in advance and stored. At the moment the feature is used, the item is paid for, used immediately, and consumed. We tell you this on screen before payment.
  • Because an item is used and consumed immediately, the right to withdraw from the purchase may be limited by the nature of the item. If a refund is needed, it follows the refund policy and procedures of the App Store or Google Play where the payment was made.
  • A record with less than 24 hours remaining until arrival cannot be edited, even using Second Thoughts. This is to preserve the contents of a record whose delivery has already begun, and in that case no payment is made.

Article 9 (Limitation of Liability)

The Service is not responsible for the truthfulness, accuracy, or lawfulness of content created by users. However, when a report of unlawful content is received, we act on it promptly.

Article 10 (Deleting Your Account)

You may delete your account at any time from the settings screen. On deletion, all records, comments, inspirations, and follow relationships are permanently deleted and cannot be recovered.

Article 11 (Dispute Resolution)

Disputes arising from use of the Service are resolved in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Korea, and the competent court is determined by the location of the service provider's head office. However, where you use the Service as a consumer and the mandatory law of your country of residence affords you greater protection, this clause does not limit that protection, and you may also bring proceedings in the courts of your country of residence.

Article 12 (Language)

These Terms are written in Korean. We may provide translations for your convenience; where a translation differs from the Korean version, the Korean version prevails.
